Summer Mountain Fendels - the adventure mountain for families in Fendels at the entrance to the Kaunertal.

It's cozy and relaxed in Fendels. And yet it never gets boring here! There is something for everyone here - for the little ones anyway and also the big ones get their money's worth here.

The charming winter mountain change into a summer mountain in the warm season. Experience the Tyrolean natural and mountain landscape in Fendels on one of the many hikes from the mountain station of the quad chairlift.

With the cable car up high

Float almost silently with the four-seater chairlift directly from the village of Fendels at 1,874 m above sea level to the Sattelklause mountain station and enjoy the Tyrolean natural landscape as you ascend.

Mountain restaurant Sattelklause

Mum and dad relax in comfort on the sun terrace of the Sattelklause mountain restaurant and always have their loved ones in view.

Big playground

Water - power - mountains, this motto is also in the foreground at the Fendels summer mountain. Action and fun are not neglected for the youngest either.

Around the Sattelklause

Forest bathing path

The forest bathing path also begins at the Sattelklause mountain restaurant and leads through a fragrant spruce forest towards Ochsenkopf. Enjoy the journey with all your senses - touch, feel, hear, smell. Follow the signs and immerse yourself in a source of nature. The way back of the forest bathing path leads along the Plagger slope through flowering flower meadows and alpine herbs.

Barefoot path & Shoe lift

Explore nature barefoot - the barefoot path begins at the large playground on owl path and leads 15 minutes through the Fendler mountain forest over meadows, cones and soft forest floor. At the end of the day, you have the opportunity to refresh your feet in the Kneipp facility.

What about the shoes? These can be easily "cranked up" with the "Patschenlift".

Owl path

An exciting puzzle awaits you along the owl path. Go on a gemstone hunt with Bibi and Kauni. For every correct answer, a glittering gem is waiting for you in the Sattelklause restaurant!

You can pick up the puzzle cards at the ticket office of the lift station or from the staff in the restaurant.

Mountaincarts

The popular winter toboggan run is converted into a fast mountain cart route in summer. There's no stopping it! The 4.5 km long drive offers action and fun for the whole family. The mountain carts and helmets can be rented directly at the Sattelklause mountain station.

Children's summer happiness on the Sommerberg Fendels

Puzzle trail - Bibi and Kauni in search of gemstones

Go on a gemstone hunt together with Bibi & Kauni on the Sommerberg Fendels. Solve the 7 riddle questions along the Owl Trail and collect a gemstone for every correct answer. At the end, you will receive a certificate and your own gemstone at the Sattelklause mountain restaurant.

Pick up the puzzle directly at the lift ticket offices or at the Sattelklause restaurant.

Hiking trails

In Fendels, families can enjoy much more than a wonderful panoramic view of the Tyrolean Oberland! From easy to moderately difficult hikes, Fendels, as one of the smallest municipalities in Tyrol, offers a multitude of hiking opportunities.

Here are some hiking tips that start at the Sattelklause mountain station:

  • Hiking tour Ochsenkopf

Wildbachtrail

The Wildbachtrail from Fendels to Ried is an absolute highlight for all bike fans. If you go over a 30 meter long suspension bridge over the gorge of the Fendler Bach to Ried.

Facts and infos Wildbachtrail:

  • Lenth: 3.4 km
  • Length of the bridge: 30 m
  • Difference in altitude: approx.. 480 altitude
  • Difficulty: S3 (difficult)
  • Rental: the trail bikes are available at the valley station of the Ried-Fendels gondola or in the center of Ried in the Burtscher sports shop.

"Bach am Moos" natural playground

Directly at the valley station of the Fendels mountain railway (four-person chairlift) you can experience different aspects of the water, sometimes up close, on the barrier-free natural playground "Bach am Moos".
